New 'Up' theatrical trailer released

A spectacular new, full-length theatrical trailer for Up has been released online, at Yahoo! Movies. This is the first trailer to highlight the real exciting parts of the movie. We get to see cute talking dog Dug, Kevin the giant bird, Muntz (voiced by Christopher Plummer) and his mean talking dogs, and more.

My favourite part: The thunderstorm scene (and subsequent arrival in South America).

I AM!!! HOPEFULLY...

So apparently you don't have constant use of the internet in your "Something boring" occupation. Hmmm, that narrows it down a little. :)

Anyway, my favorite parts are the whole first part with Russel at the door, and meeting Doug.
Kevin is bigger then I imagined and seemed kinda cartoony, as in fake and kinda unrealistic. But I'm sure he'll turn out fine since he's a pixar character.

Erm.... the intro is good, but after a buildup like that, I was stranglely disappointed for some reason at the second half of the trailer. After the intro, it looked just like any other CGI kid's flick. Maybe it was just me, although I'm usually the one to get hyped at the smallest things.
Otherwise, I'm still exceited it's going to be released earlier than the last few. I'll be there when it comes out on the 29th!

Does anyone recognize the music? I'm wondering if that's the actual score to the movie. Also, I'm pretty sure Doug is being voiced by Bob Peterson. It sounded just like him. As a side note, I'm really glad that the animals don't physically speak, but the collar seems to interpret the vibrations in their vocal chords and translate it into human languages.

Anyway, this trailer didn't have me hopping out of my seat or anything, but it still looks fantastic! Pete Doctor did an amazing job on Monsters, Inc., and I think I'll like Up just as much, if not more!

I, on the other hand, was hopping out of my seat :)

This trailer is amazingly edited. Gorgeous in 1080p!

This is one of the most anticipated films of 2009, and with good reason. I knew it was going to be great, but the trailer was more than I had hoped for. I can't wait to go to a 3D movie to see this trailer in 3D.

I am very please with all of the characters shown so far. I love the way that they have Dug talk without talking, and Kevin looks great.

I'm so excited right now! A fantastic trailer and what a great story, I really feel like this movie is not going to let us down! I can safely presume that Pixar has done it again. The scenes we got to see here are FANTASTIC! The dog was hilarious, the thunderstorm looked amazing! I mean just by the look of it the animation seems to be on top this movie, they are just getting better and better!

I hope that the music I heard was Michael's I'm so anxious to here the soundtrack, Michael Giacchino is my favorite composer and the music sounds promising and this trailer is really a tease, I can wait to see more and I will be sitting in the theater on opening night with my hopes up!
Thank you!

And I would be hopping out of my seat if I wasn't babysitting and the kids are sleeping!

Do we know yet what John Ratzenberger is going to be the voice for?

Does anybody know for sure who voices Dug?

Mike said...

Mark: May 29, not March. Anonymous commenter #2 is in error.

This movie looks fabulous--and hilarious. No wonder it's one of the most anticipated films of 2009. (In fact, I could bet money that Up would beat the weekend record of The Incredibles.)

I didn't really care for the thunderstorm scene but I loved it where they met Dug, and the part where the bird squawks at the evil dogs is also hilarious.

My one complaint about this movie so far is that--ONLY 87 MINUTES?! Come on! Docter can do better then that!

I'll be there--like these other people--unless I decide to see Night at the Museum II instead. Haven't made up my mind yet.
