'Up' featurette: Kevin: The Undiscovered Species

Disney has released yet another "Inside Up" featurette. Kevin: The Undiscovered Species focuses on the large, flightless female bird (misnamed by Russell) that plays a key role in the movie.

Some exciting new scenes that will surely amaze in 3-D plus we get to see Pete Docter in a shirt and tie, possibly a first :)

Watch it at Disney.com.

Yeah, I noticed that. I think it's the first time he's ever worn one on camera! I was looking back through your archives and I was wondering, Did you record your interview/roundtable thing with Andrew Stanton? It would be really great to hear it!

Great clip. Although I'm now very curious about why Carl is wearing Russell's wilderness explorer clothes about 30 seconds from the end of the clip. Any theories?

Yay Kevin!! I just love her charm and spaziness. This will be the best Pixar character yet!

I also noticed that Carl was wearing Russel's clothes (though I think it's was only his badges)

My theories:

Perhaps Carl gave Russel his last "badge" or something like it (maybe the grape soda cap he has pinned to his shirt!!!) and Russel gave the rest of the badges in thanks.

Or maybe Carl was afraid and needed reasurance so Russel gave him his badges to inspire Carl. He did look pretty brave in that shot.

Or it was just a screw up in the animation, but I highly doubt it knowing Pixar.
