'Up' wrap party

I just got back from Buffalo. It's 2 AM. Seriously.

The Up wrap party took place Saturday evening in Oakland, California, and it was, by all accounts, a big success. Attendees were greeted by a variety of Up-themed decorations and in-jokes and received blue Up wristbands and other such party favors. Nearly every well-known Pixarian was present.

Hundreds of pictures from the gathering have since been uploaded to Flickr, including the one shown above taken by user Cwalkatron.

Good for Pixar. They deserve the party.

What were you doing in Buffalo by the way? My family lives near Rochester.

Why were you in Buffalo? Were you at the Up wrap party? I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the movie! I don't think I can wait until May 29th to see this film...

Why Buffalo? Just visiting. A lot of Ontarians that live near the border go down there to shop. I go a couple of times a year.

Plus, Niagara Falls!

Peter Sohn shaved his head clean, and Lee Unkrich grew it out more. I think I saw Enrico Casarosa in there, too.

I think Niagara Falls definitely had an influence. It is a beautiful site.

Can Pixar be any greater?!? said...

Niagara Falls had an influence on what? The movie UP? It's Paradise Falls in Venezuela that had the influence there I'm sure.

Anyway, I didn't know you were at the wrap party Mike... Are you in any of the pictures?

I am just wondering two things, hope you can answer:

1-Are you seeing Up in early May? if so, when?
2-Were you at the Up wrap party?

Thank you. Have a nice day.

For goodness sakes! I wasn't at the wrap party! Are you guys serious?! I mean, please, the post is prefaced by a remark about being in Buffalo, NY! And why would I be invited? It's not like I cried during the trailer! :)

About when I'll be seeing Up, I'm still working on that.

Thanks for sharing! I really enjoyed looking through all the photos from the wrap party. I especially enjoyed the photos of the Up-themed posters - enough to post them on the Ghibli Blog. I wonder how I could get one of those?

You were at the Wrap Party Mike! I didn't know it was in Buffalo, NY!?!
Just kidding!
Someone mentioned Toy story people shaving their heads. Have you seen this pic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/victor_navone/3483144037/in/set-72157604320040449

4 weeks to Up!!! Any word yet on when you'll be seeing it, Mike?

I second what PixarFanatic said. This must be the "one month until" lull before the movie comes out where there's not much to report.

I Like Pixar!: I got some bad news about that yesterday. Disney marketing told me that as of now the only advance screening in Toronto will be on May 27, two days before Up opens in theatres.

Not happy about that...

I Like Pixar! said...

So is there still any good news? Will you be going to that screening? I know if I had a chance to see it even two days early that would be great!

Mike said...

Well, I'm going to be getting an advance copy of the A Bug's Life Blu-ray and probably the Art of Up next week. And yeah, I'm going to the advance screening.

do you have a blu-ray player?

So do you get to bring a guest to this screening? ;)

That's exactly what I was wondering! How many tickets did you get for this screening?

Mike said...

For this one, you get two.
