Lasseter Family Winery up and running

Pixar chief John Lasseter is known for being passionate about three things: Animation, cars, and wine. On this latter point, Lasseter and his wife Nancy have now officially launched the Lasseter Family Winery.

The winery, operating out of California's Sonoma Valley, has been in the works for several years. The Lasseters purchased the vineyard in 2002.

Three fine wines are now being offered on the online store. They are a 2008 Syrah Rose, a 2005 St Emilion style red blend, and a non-vintage Rhone style red blend. Complete notes on each can be found on their respective pages.

A nice red with some grilled steak and vegetables sounds real good right about now, but there's no shipping to Canada. Darn.

Even if you don't care much for wine, make your way over to the site and take a good look at the bee in the winery logo, who bears a striking resemblance to Wally B. from The Adventures of André and Wally B.. Cute.

If shipping to Hawaii wasn't so expensive I'd be tempted to buy a bottle.

(Ouch - it's "your" not "you're.")

Come on, live life!

And thanks for pointing out the typo.

Andre and Walle B. was not Pixar's first short film (Luxo Jr. is the first. It was made by John Lasseter at the Lucasfilm Computer Graphics Project which would soon become Pixar.

Technically, you're very right. But it was hard to word it.

Sounds great! When will it be available in a box?

The bee in the logo even has Wally B.'s floaty teardrop feet!

I'm too young for wine, but that is so awesome! And I love the little Wally B. in the logo!

Hey Mike! Do you like Wine and are you old enough to drink it?

Mike said...

Yes, and yes! I'm a particular fan of sparkling wines, such as champagne and cava.

Does anyone know if it's open to the public to go and buy their wine or is it closed and they only ship? I can't find any info about that on their site.

I'm up here in San Francisco for the Benefit the Emery Ed Fund event tonight at Pixar...I wanna pop over there this weekend if it's open to the public.

Thanks!
