Jim Hill of Jim Hill Media reports that over the weekend Disney registered the domain name cars2-worldgrandprix.com and alternates such as worldgrandprix-movie.com, suggesting that Pixar's sequel to Cars (poster pictured) will be titled Cars 2: World Grand Prix.It must be noted that a WHOIS search on the domains (example) shows that they were registered privately and does not list Disney as the owner, a probable attempt by Disney/Pixar to have this stay off-the-radar until closer to the film's Summer 2011 release date. Hill's report is therefore currently unsubstantiated.
The subtitle World Grand Prix, however, certainly fits well with what we know about the film's plot so far, that it will follow the adventures of Lightning McQueen and Mater as they travel across the globe.

Hey Mike? I noticed you had an ad in the sidebar of TPB for The Pixar Touch. Do you get payed to have it there?
I have nothing with or against subtitles, but I was glad they didn't give TS3 a subtitle, since I figured it'd be something dorky (fact: the Kung Fu Panda sequel coming out the same year as Cars 2 has the horrible subtitle "The Kaboom of Doom"). However, if World Grand Prix really is the subtitle for Cars 2, then I am completely okay with it. Nothing flashy, gets the theme of the movie across. I trusted that if Pixar were to make a subtitle it wouldn't be too cheesy, anyway. :)
Well, that would be the first time that Pixar had subtitled a sequel (since the TS sequels aren't like that.)
Anonymous: Yes, The Pixar Touch section is a paid ad.
But, it's not a Google ad, is it? How'd you get it? Did you ask for it from the publisher?
I worked out a deal directly with the author, David A. Price.
That WHOIS report has some very interesting details, like:
1. 487 E. Middlefield Road, Mountain View, 94043, CA, United States
2. VeriSign, Inc.
3. 506 2nd Ave., Suite 2100, Seattle, WA, 98104
Didn't we hear that Pixar was building something up in Canada? Which is close to Seattle?
Wow! You can make money by having an ad on your blog? So do you get payed according to traffic?
Jordan: No, those are just the registrar addresses.
No, I think maybe he only gets paid when someone buys the book, or contacts the author, or something... Mike, am I right about any of that, or could you clarify?
It's a flat rate.
...a flat rate of $1'000'000.00? ;)
I assume having adds on your blog don't make you rich, but I assume it put the bread on table.
Well if Mr. Price reads this blog then he should know that I purchased it after finding out about it on this blog and thought it was a great read :)
Down to business - the kaboom or doom? Are they serious?
Anonymous #3: Believe me, no :)
FYI I won't be commenting until I get back from my trip past Labor Day weekend.
