Rich Ross new Walt Disney Studios chairman

Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger named Rich Ross as the new Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios earlier today, replacing longtime boss Dick Cook who resigned suddenly last month amid rumours he was fired.

Ross has worked for Disney for thirteen years, the last five of which he served as President of Disney Channels Worldwide (read his official bio there).

The New York Times' Media Decoder blog points out in an in-depth post on appointment that Pixar creative chief John Lasseter "is a fan" of Ross and worked closely with him on the Cars Toons series of shorts shown on the Disney Channel.

Woohoo! Good work!!

I won't be posting on the trailer till it's officially released online next week (or we get a really good copy on YouTube), but even in this poor-quality video it's super cool. You can see the animation on 'TS3' is going to be spectacular.

Okay, well... If Mike is fine with illegal copies of the trailer appearing online, I suppose I should cease my mission to have them taken down. Crud! I was posting at Pixar's YouTube and Facebook pages about it, too! Oh well.

I HAVE to see this again at a Regal theater and not a Century theater before the 16th.
