Toy Story Collection Mr. Potato Head coming soon?

Reader Frank S. kindly pointed me to this listing at Target.com which strongly suggests that a talking Toy Story Collection Mr. Potato Head toy is forthcoming. Same time as the Jessie doll next year, perhaps?

Read up on the Toy Story Collection here.

In the John Lasseter Talks Toys videos I remember there being a Mr. Potato Head. Maybe I'm crazy though...

It looks like his eyes are connected in that picture, while they're separate in the movies. Strange.

Martini833, a Mr. Potato Head was indeed present in all the videos, but he didn't get a separate video like the other toys did.

We already knew he's coming, when I emailed ThinkWay about this I got a response confirming it is still in their production plan. They just wont say when.

Personally I still think it'll be this year, probably pretty soon. they wouldn't have listings for it if it wasn't planned until next year would they?

Here is hoping it just didnt get cancelled. I wonder if there were problems with Hasbro allowing Thinkway to make the toy? Or maybe it was just held back as the for the top of the next phase.

You can see the Mr. Potato Head in the previous videos. Numbers 1, 2, & 6, at least. He's just sitting there on the desk, looking just like the picture at Target.com.

We all know Mike wants a Jessie doll! ;)

@ Leirin: Yes, we all know Mike will be a very lonely man, until he has a Jesse doll to keep him company! ; )

Hey, there is also a Hamm coming. Dont know if this is old news or not, but figured it might be new to some whos paying outrageous prices for the original Hamm.

Here he is, next to MR Potato Head:

Hopefully the delay with Mr. Potato Head had something to do with fixing him so that he has two separate eyes. Either way, as long as he IS released, this picture looks more like the Potato Head from the movies than any they've release up until now. However, to say that these are the "Definitive Collection", and not give him two separate eyes would be a shame... How would he ever be able to play One-Eyed Bart? (The very first Toy Story scene we ever saw.)

Also, I really hope that picture of Hamm means they are in fact going to release a Definitive Collection figure of him as well. There needs to be a good, movie-sized figure of Hamm AND a Slinky Dog figure that doesn't have a rope coming out from between his eyeballs.

I am so thankful of Thinkway for doing these toys...I still need to get RC and Rex (but I haven't seen rex in stores yet). As long as we get all the core characters I will be happy, but I would love to see some of the 'second-string' characters as well - especially a ZURG! A movie-accurate Bo-Peep has also yet to be made.

I already have the army men and they didn't put Sarge or the Medic in. So I hope they make potato head with 2 seperate eyes. But I also hope they make Hamm, Slinky Dog, Zurg, the Round Up gang and especially Rocky, he's super awesome!

Rex the dinosaur may be purchased online via Amazon for $44.99 or from the local Disney Store for $59.99.

I noticed there are 2 Army Men Bucket collections out there. The one with a Toy Collection certificate and one without. The certificate one is of lighter green shade and has multiple Sarges while the non certify bucket has 1 Sarge as a paratrooper. Hope this helps!

Yes, it was show, complete and in and out of its box throughout the videos John Lasseter made. As for the eyes, well they would be an even more serious chocking hazard than if they were connected. But it would be nice if they were separate. Man, why hasn't this come out yet?

They're pacing themselves. Fewer people would buy the whole collection if it came out all at once. I specifically read somewhere that they are going to release figures in intervals right up to Toy Story 3's release in theaters.

I contacted Vivid Imaginations who distribute the Toy Story Collection in the UK. They said 2010 for Mr Potato Head - can't wait, but I hope he has separate eyes! Really hoping for a Toy Story Collection Slinky without a string between the eyes too!
