Check out these two beautiful never-before-seen pieces of artwork from the Toy Story 3 color script, created by art director Daisuke "Dice" Tsutsumi. They were sent exclusively to me by Pixar this evening, for me to share with readers.

Update: Pixar Talk and Upcoming Pixar also got two exclusive pieces of color script art each. Check those out here and here.

Dice is a cool name.
I might use it as a character name in a Noir script one day.
Thanks for sharing it!!!
These are such beautiful images. I love the roughness of the textures. They manage to be very evocative with minimal details. Kudos to Dice (whose name is indeed awesome).
Wow! An email from who at Pixar - Lee Unkrich?
I'm using the one of Woody shaking Buzz's hand as my wallpaper now :-)
Great idea.
I would presume that the e-mail would be from a PR rep...
Beautiful, just beautiful. The color direction is fantastically lush.javascript:void(0)
Who here thinks that's Woody and Buzz saying goodbye, moments before it turns into a big get-over-here bear hug?
@Alan/Falcon - Totally agree with you. I'm now positive I won't stay dry-eyed watching this film.
awesome guys!!!
I know its supposed to be woody, but that toy just left of Andy's head looks like C-3PO! :)
It's interesting to see that these images were done with a computer, as it looks like a lot of the brush strokes are quite solid and similar. There's a lot of layering of colours but not much mixing, so it seems like someone working with a tablet in Photoshop or Painter or something. They're still beautiful.
You are like the woman from the movie Julie & Julia. I believe that this Blog become a big success and that's why I admire you. Congratulations people at Pixar know about you and they send news directly to you :) That's a very big success. If you saw or read Julie and Julia, you will understand what I mean...
Merry Christmas, Mike!
@Mike: I tweet you, but on this computer instead. When you wrote this: "Watching 'Sound of Music' in HD on ABC. I get up during the musical numbers.", did you mean getting up to dance, or leaving the room?
Leave the room. Definitely, leave the room :)
Oh know! Mike don't like music! I be dancing hole in rug! : )
