Three Grammy nominations for 'Up'

The music of Up has been recognized by The Recording Academy with three Grammy Award nominations for composer and arranger Michael Giacchino. The academy announced the nominees for the 52nd annual Grammy Awards earlier today. The winners will be announced at the awards presentation on Sunday, January 31.

The nominations are as follows:
  • Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media
  • Best Instrumental Composition —For "Married Life"
  • Best Instrumental Arrangement —For "Up With End Credits"

Fans of Giacchino should be quite happy that he's nominated twice in the Best Score Soundtrack Album category, the other nomination being for his excellent work on Star Trek.

Visit the official Grammy website for the complete list of nominees.

So happy for the Married Life nomination!

Also, I thought you'd want to know that the NBR (National Board of Review of Motion Pictures) named Up one of the top 10 films of the year: http://www.nbrmp.org/awards/

Hey Mike, check this out: http://www.nbrmp.org/awards/

Up took home Best Animated, and The Cove took home Best Documentary! Best Picture went to Up In The Air - which is apparently very good. Planning on seeing that one tomorrow. You?

Mike's a Trekker! Yay!

I saw Star Trek for a second time last month at Asperger's movie night, and it is awesome!

Good choices for your top three, Mike! Begs the question, what would your top 5 or 10 look like?

My next favourites would be all documentaries: Waking Sleeping Beauty, DisneyNature's Earth, and Food, Inc.

I watched a lot of documentaries this year.
