Final Toy Story 3 trailer released

The final full-length theatrical trailer for Toy Story 3 has been released online, at Apple Movie Trailers, Yahoo! Movies, and many other entertainment websites. It's embedded below via Trailer Addict for your convenience, but the way to enjoy this, if you can, is in full-screen HD.

This is one heck of a trailer. I've already seen it twice and I'm about to again. It's genuinely exciting, funny (the scenes with Barbie and Ken are hilarious), and the animation is stunning. A couple of the shots (e.g. the toys on the train) confirm that the film will be Pixar's most visually impressive to date.

We get our first look at many of the new characters that will be officially revealed in the coming days. Lots-o-Huggin' Bear, aka Lotso, is seen quite a bit, but it's still unsure as to whether he will be a friend or foe to Andy's toys or something in between. But there's no doubt he will play a major role in the film. (MSN just got the Lotso poster, by the way.)

Another important aspect of the story is Andy's relationship with the toys. It appears that maybe he hadn't outgrown them after all, especially Woody. That should play out really nicely on screen.

There's just so much to see, so much detail, in this trailer. It's cool to see Pixar continuing the tradition of including Apple references, this time with the toys surfing the web on a Mac.

That reminds me: To coincide with the release of the trailer, the official Toy Story 3 website, disney.com/toystory, has been updated and now includes much more on the film, like profiles for the new characters revealed yesterday.

Watch the trailer, then sound off in comments.

Wow, that was insane!! (a good insane)

Somehow, I get this weird feeling that Andy knows something's up with the toys, like there's more to them than just pieces of plastic and springs and pull strings.

And may I just say, the graphics are INCREDIBLE! The details and everything made me just starstruck! :)

As a loyal Toy Story fanatic and follower, this movie, just by what I've seen so far, get's my approval. lol

CAN'T WAIT!

This is incredible.

And it appears Pixar has been messing with us in regards to what happens in the movie.

I love it. Right now, I'm picking it apart, frame by frame, so I can see stuff that I didn't notice the first time. Anyone notice Totoro about 48 seconds in, when Woody is using the (obviously Mac) computer.

I've been taking a photo a day of the Toy Story Buddy Pack figures, and was very excited today to get to share the TS3 trailer with the gang.

I'm so proud of everyone at Pixar. This is going to be one incredible movie.

The Purple Octopus sure sounds like Whoopie saying "oh please"

I am SO EXCITED for this!!! Someone help me out though--does Barbie drop the "A" bomb when she talks to Ken? What the heck is she saying? And is that poop that Mr. Potato Head is made of at the end there? That is disgusting--and I'm trying really hard to believe it's not true. It's a pickle, right guys? This isn't Shrek!!!!

Derrick Clements: Yes, it's a pickle... And Barbie said "ascot".

If his name was Scott I'de be concerned, the little kids may wonder and ask what an ascott is, the adolescents will giggle, we adults will smile inside and maybe out. I'm sure it's a pickle.

What does Barbie say??? I can't tell?

It looks good, but I don't think that internet chat room gag seems very Pixar. It's a little too pop culture.

Derrick Clements, Barbie remarks about Ken's ascot which is the necktie he's wearing. And at the end Mr. Potato Head is a Zucchini. Possibly a reference to Mr. Zucchini Head from Family Guy. The "Lincoln Logs" on the other hand....

AMAZING! I have to show everyone I know! I could comment on individual things I saw, but I'm still taking it all in, and as of this writing, I've only seen it once.

I know! Let's all tell stories about how we first saw this trailer! I was headed to IMDb to find Pit's (Nintendo character) IMDb character page, and they had a link to the trailer at the top of the main page - I clicked it and that's how I saw it. Then I found it embedded on the Pixar Blog, then I went to the Toy Story website, and now I'm finding it on YouTube at Pixar's official channel.

I am proud to say that I shed a tear when Andy was talking about his toys. Especially Woody. It just resonates with anyone who's had that one special toy who meant everything to you and was your friend and...Oh here I go again *sniff!*

But seriously, this looks phenomenal. The colors and CGI alone is worth it, but we know with Pixar, the story will bring it all home.

SO EXCITED!

Wow, the films just looks incredible. I also agree it looks like what will truly happen will indeed be a surprise. :) I'm even more excited for it now!

Looks awesome! Anyone know of a site with all the HD screen captures? I want to get a better look at everything!

This trailer really gave me a feel for what the completed film will be. I was worried there'd just be a little action at the start to get them at the Daycare, and then some action near the end, but Woody on that train and hangglider seem to prove me wrong. Fantastic, my hype levels just went up. :)

For those of you wondering what Barbie said, she indeed said "ascot", which is a man's broad necked scarf - fastened with tie tack or stick pin. His fashion is so retro!

"Nice ascot" was actually one of my favourite parts of the trailer.

That's really clever what they did with Mrs. Potato head - it looks like her missing eye is on the floor of Andy's room.

OH MY GOS that was amazing not just the look the sound, the story, the comedy, the adventure,My favorite part is when Andy's talking about woody"But the thing that makes Woody special is that he'll never give up on you"unforunatley I know i'm gonna sound like a wuss but I think he's saying that to somone as if he's giving woody to him I DO NOT want him to do that I mean Woody=Andy Andy=Woody!Or what if he gives him to a little brat???I don't anyway i'm PSYCHED!!(is that spelled right?)P.S i'm an 11 year old kid!

This Toy Story is the BOMB! I wish they sped up the production date so it could come out earlier! I CAN'T WAIT MUCH LONGER!!!

Wow... for the very first time, I'm underwhelmed. Yeah, the 'he's a special toy' struck a chord, and the Barbie+Ken scene made me laugh, but otherwise I'm sadly surprised. Just judging by the trailer, Pixar's latest seems to be set to a lower standard than their previous films, IMHO. (A few things already stated above.)
I hope the final movie surprises me; I'm suddenly not expecting as much as I had originally. :(

Graeme Allen said...

Yeah, I personally think that Pixar has been taking a slight downhill trip recently, after WALL•E. I am very worried about their next two releases, The Bear and the Bow and Cars 2, both of which are coming out next year.

Nate said...

Darn, Graeme beat me to the Totoro reference!

On topic, I'm surprised at the negativity toward the movie trailer, particularly the lincoln logs joke and the chat room gag. Pixar doesn't make generic, sugar coated movies that put parents to sleep, what would you want instead, knock-knock jokes?

Plus, the Toy Story series takes place in present times, and the chat room joke makes sense, considering we are doing so right now...

Is that Mr. Potato head's voice over the phone?

It's the same New Yorker accent.

Does Mr. Potato head betray Andy's toys?
