IMAX 3D release for Cars 2

IMAX Corporation and The Walt Disney Studios announced a couple of hours ago that they are extending their current deal with a new agreement covering three additional 3-D pictures.

Pixar's Cars 2, in theatres June 24, 2011, will be the third film released in IMAX 3D under this agreement, in addition to its regular 2-D and digital 3-D showings, of course.

This announcement shouldn't come as a surprise considering how well Toy Story 3, Pixar's first film to arrive in the giant-screen 3-D format, is doing at IMAX screens across North America.

Read the press release at MarketWatch and share your opinions in comments.

Mike, I'm pretty sure Cars 2 isn't due for release tomorrow.

Were you affected by the earthquake?

Nina: Haha, maybe that's what I want :) But seriously, it's been corrected and thanks for pointing out my mistake.

Daniel: Yes, I felt it for a few seconds. Mentioned it on Twitter. The floor and my iMac were rocking.

Woah, Mike... In Toronto, I also was at my computer, and my iMac was also rocking for about 8 seconds, along with the floor under me. iMacs seem to be designed to rock - not tip...

Apparently, according to the USGS, it was a 5.0 quake with an epicentre 16 km under the ground, near the Ontario/Quebec border:

Cool! I just don't know what else to say. :/

Well, I don't think Cars 2 will have the same success with TS3, neither it 'll receive so many excellent reviews...

Awesome. We saw Toy Story 3 in 3-D but not in IMAX format, so we'll probably make Cars 2 our first IMAX Pixar film.

I thought Cars was good but it was by no means one of the best of Pixar. An Incredibles 2! Now that's what I would wanna see. What amazing characters and storytelling. :D

also this:
"you want comments, here you go.

get over yourself."

was very unnecessary.

@Leirin No, Leirin there is still time! You NEED to see TS3 in IMAX, you'll regret it if you don't.
