Toy Story 3 is highest grossing Pixar film ever

Toy Story 3 has brought in over $895 million worldwide, surpassing Finding Nemo's $867.8 million worldwide gross over the weekend to become Pixar's all-time highest grossing film. Total domestic earnings are at $396,387,342; foreign, $498,700,000.

Another box office milestone.

Congrats Pixar! Toy Story 3 deserves every penny of it.

I'm so happy. I'm almost certain it's going to hit $1 billion.

This is great for Pixar and bad for Pixar at the same time.
Expect a sequel to everything.
Also, look for a TS4 to be announced in the near future.

Taking into account inflation and 3D ticket prices, it's not that impressive, but well deserved all the same.

Bravo! Good for them (Pixar)! It's my favorite Pixar film. :)

Please be sure to see my post comparing Toy Story 3 and The Brave Little Toaster.

I don't think so. Pixar has never made something like that just because they had a box office hit. I'm sure they'll keep doing sequels just when needed. And that doesn't include TS4.

Finally, a Pixar film is gonna be the most successful animated film ever soon again.

Yes, I have also read much of Pixar announcing that there would be no TS4. (Although they may use Woody and Buzz in shorts. Hardly the same as making a sequel, though.)

@Anonymous Unfortunately Shrek 2 will still be holding on to the highest grossing animated film for a while.

Speaking of sequels and pressure to make more big successes so Disney can sell more junk to kids; If they make a sequel to Finding Nemo, I am out. Andrew Stanton said he could not live with himself if his kids ever asked him if he made the first or second one.

I am already disappointed in sequels to Monsters, Inc. and Cars. I'm sure they will be good, but I am still very displeased. That Pixar makes so many fresh films and settings means they are one of a kind. If they start turning to a higher output of sequels and spin-offs to cash in, I'll be angry.

As long as the quality of the storytelling remains high, I couldn't care less if it's a sequel or not.

Hey Moreno,
Check this blogs past posts to see that Tim Allen has already been signed "just in case" they decide to do a TS4 in the future.
And I don't think it's Pixar that wants to do it. This smells of Disney execs.
