Chapman in contract dispute with Pixar?

An anonymous tipster evidently located in San Francisco—Pixarian country—says the following regarding Brenda Chapman's status at Pixar:
"The New York Times is wrong. Brenda has left Pixar but is still technically on payroll because of squabbles over her contract. Once those are resolved, she will be officially out of the company."
Unsubstantiated, yes, but intriguing.

Newspapers can be wrong, as we've learned over the decades. However, I hope Brenda gets things worked out, even if it means leaving that PIxar, a company that is really having me scratch my head more and more through the years.

I thought Pixar didn't have employment contracts due to the damage done by them during the animation wars of the 90s...At least that's what Catmull said in a SplineCast

I wonder how, and if, this will be confirmed.

Pixar, indeed, now has contracts. this was not always the case. Most new employees sign on for 12 - 15 month stints per production.
