The Art of Cars 2 available for pre-order

The Art of Cars 2, the latest in Pixar's beloved series of 'Art of' books, is available for pre-order from Amazon.com and other online retailers.

(Amazon has a ship date of June 1st in the U.S.; publisher Chronicle Books says it will be available after May 18.)

The Art of Cars 2 will be 160 pages long, with main text by Ben Queen and Karen Paik. Director John Lasseter will provide the foreword or preface.

Paik wrote The Art of Ratatouille and To Infinity and Beyond!: The Story of Pixar Animation Studios. Queen, on the other hand, I don't know much about, so I'm waiting to hear back from Pixar and Chronicle.

If previous 'Art of' books are any indication, the cover shown is only temporary and will be replaced closer to publication.

Sounds cool, hope the film is as good as it looks

Because this isn't particularly exciting news, Mike, THAT'S why. I mean, it's nice to see, and I'm sure some are excited, it isn't as exciting as a video interview or stuff about TS3 awards or new images or videos from Cars 2.

Seriously, Mike, you might need to think a bit more about what excites people.

The art of pixar books are fantastic, my favourite book was the one of The Incredibles.

Mike: I like that you post stuff like this - it is Pixar news after all, even if it is just about a book. Personally, I love these 'art of' books.

Keeping posting this kind of thing, but just remember - some posts just don't warrant the same kind of discussion in terms of people commenting...

I love Pixar art books, but tbh I'm really not interested in Cars2
