Amazon.com is listing a new children's book, "Toy Story Toon Pictureback", to be published by Random House/Disney on August 9. The publishers' description of the book (since removed) reveals that it is based on Pixar's forthcoming Hawaii-centric Toy Story toon and provides a good synopsis of the short's plot.
Bonnie is off to Hawaii, and Barbie and Ken are excited to go along on their first tropical vacation! But when they're accidentally left behind, it's up to Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the toys to create a Hawaiian paradise right in Bonnie's room.Based on the latest animated short featuring the toys from Disney/Pixar Toy Story, this full-color storybook includes punch-out postcards that girls and boys ages 3-7 will love sending to their friends!
So the toys aren't actually travelling to the Aloha State! Oh, well.

Okay... Barbie and Ken are NOT Bonnie's toys. They've made a goof here.
Remember some time has passed since the events of TS3.
It's true - Barbie and Ken are most likely in touch with the other toys since Bonnie's mom works at the daycare and all...maybe she eventually took them home! It would make total sense...as long as Ken was allowed to bring his wardrobe LOL
Yeah I could just imagine him sobbing if he couldn't bring the wardrobe. "AAAGGGHHHH!!!! BARBIE, YOU'VE GOT TO GET MY DREAM HOUSE FOR ME!!!! SOMEONE? HELP ME!!!!!!"
:)
i hope they have other characters from toy story 3 in it, like stretch, twitch, chunk and sparks since we didn't really see a lot of their personalities in toy story 3. And also maybe big baby!
What about Andy? I wish he was in this short, I wanna see him! >.<
The plot doesn't seem very interesting, honestly...but we shall see!

As long as Big Baby doesn't turn his head around 180 degrees again, that's fine with me...
Sounds cool. I hope Mr. Pricklepants and Bonnie's other toys are in it. I love that hedgehog!!!
Random House lists it in the Movie or Television tie-in category...
So I guess the short will now be called Play-Cation , my brother works at Pixar and has seen a preview/practice run for something like Rex knocking over fake pop out people wearing floral shirts or something ...
As always, I'm a little iffy about this short, but knowing Pixar, they'll pull it off. I'm hoping this will start a whole series of Toy Story shorts that they'll release on Disney Channel like the Cars Toons.
I would like to see Pixar do some new shorts with the return of past short characters. Like Geri, the Jackalope, or Andre for example.
Barbie and Ken actually hide in her backpack, hoping to be taken along to Hawaii, but they are left behind in her room.
