Cars 2 research trip: Italy

Here are a few selected photographs from the Italy research trip taken by senior members of the Cars 2 production team in May 2009. The pictures are among the hundreds of images released by Disney/Pixar on Thursday.

Such trips are essential to bringing an authentic look to on-screen locations, in this case "Porto Corsa", Italy. Team members also traveled to London and Tokyo and you'll see those photos in future posts.

If that's what they do on their research trips, I'd love to know what they do on their vacations.

Nice work with your research. Porto Corsa was a great result. It looks like a mix between Monte Carlo and nice Italian beach town. Looks and feels so real that it makes you want to be there!
