Pixar creative chief and Cars 2 helmer John Lasseter talked to IGN recently about Pixar's 2012 feature Brave and the possibility of a sequel to The Incredibles. After speaking about Pixar's interest in having a female as the main character, Lasseter said this about Brave:
"It's got phenomenal characters and the look of this thing is unlike anything you've ever seen. Even for Pixar, there's a gorgeous, unique look to this movie and it's very, very exciting."
The news isn't as good for those hoping for an 'Incredibles' sequel:
"We love [The Incredibles]. We love those characters and love that world too, but there's nothing in the works right now."Read Lasseter's complete comments at IGN Movies.

A The Incredibles sequel will occur, give it time. People figured Tron was dead too but is now something of a resurrected franchise.
No Incredibles sequel still? DARN IT!!!
You came up with a sequel to Cars; can't you come up with a good story for Incredibles?! It's the sequel that Pixar fans are clamoring the most for!
Sigh...
Thank goodness they aren't planning a Incredibles' sequel. I love Pixar sequels, but we've definitely had an overload of them lately.
REALLY excited for Brave! Sounds like it's going to be amazing.
Duuuuuuuuuudeee!!!!!!! DONT DO THIS TO ME!!!!! I read the title and flipped out in shear joy thinking there was going to be an Incredibles sequel :-( Sad bitter end...
Worst False Advertising Ever. Sorry but when you post something like "Incredibles Sequel" I get my hopes up expecting that there will be one.
I think the reason that they don't have a Incredibles sequel planned is because there isn't a reason to.
The Incredibles ending adds an extra piece of flare to its amazing story. They want you to think what the story would be.
Kinda like how Monsters Inc's. ending leaves you questioning what happened. That is (in my opinion) why they are making a prequel instead of a sequel. They don't want to ruin the ending.
This could go the same for The Incredibles
As much as I love The Incredibles, why would anyone want a sequel when they could have an original movie?
Then what about "The Incredible Origins"?
You heard it here first :)
ROFL at Stian's comment. I don't think a prequel for The Incredibles is a good idea, especially since we got a pretty good background for each character in the first movie.
However, it'd be rather cool to have a sequel, but i would expect it to be released by 2015 or 2016. Or better yet, instead of those lousy Mater Tall Tales, some Incredible Stories with a comic book look or something [You read it here first!]. I'd definitely buy that on Blu-ray [note that I'm implying i haven't and will never buy the Mater's Tall Tales DVD or Blu-Ray even though i love Pixar] Only time will tell, though.
Awww, I was hoping for a more positive update- "The Incredibles" isn't just one of my favorite Pixar movies; it's one of my favorite movies of all time!
That being said, if Brad Bird has other projects that he'd rather devote his time to, then I think he should devote his time to them, and not work on Incredibles 2 until he has a good idea for a sequel and wants to return to that world. It's not like good sequels are easy to make, and if he's not interested right now, we shouldn't demand that he make it, or it probably won't turn out as good as the first movie.
What.....Cars really... 3 Toy stories. The Incredibles would do so well..very disappointing
@Alexandro Fantino
Boom! Studios did an Incredibles comic book series that they have republished as a series of five manga/graphic novels. They're out of print now, but you might try amazon.com or ebay. For more details on the books themselves, check Boom! Studios' website at http://www.boom-studios.com/graphicnovels?p=10
Hope this helps!
They left the end wide open for a sequel with the "Rise of the Underminer". How can any of you say there isn't a need for an Incredibles sequel?! Pixar can send Andy to college and have spies in the Cars world but the Incredibles aren't allowed to take on the Underminer? VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY disappointing!
