I thought La Luna was to be completed next year, along with Brave. Perhaps Cars 2 is going to have two shorts to accompany it?

Is this short going to be before Brave?I've noticed recently that some of these shorts are finished and shown to select groups years before they are shown to the public. Why is that? Seems odd.
