The first one-sheet poster for Brave has been spotted in the wild, ahead of the teaser trailer coming with Cars 2.
It was photographed at a theatre by a sharp-eyed forum user at DVDizzy/Ultimate Disney. (See the uncropped photo.)
With the tagline "Change Your Fate. Summer 2012", which alludes to the main character's quest to shake off the chains of princesshood, this poster is just awesome.
Gorgeous artwork, superb design. One of the best Pixar teaser posters ever, tied with last year's '3' one-sheet for Toy Story 3.
Thanks Matt DeWater for the tip

Update: EW.com just posted the official image (pictured), along with quotes from co-director Mark Andrews on the significance of some of the design elements.

I agree it's one of their best teaser posters. So much better than the 3!
That is...simply stunning. Very attractive! Makes me even more excited for Brave.
AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's gorgeous!!!!!! When will it be available for download??? At the same time the teaser hits the web, perhaps?? I WANT IT!
Beautiful poster. This movie is going to be awesome.
Dear god that is absolutely beautiful!
What a beautiful poster. Looks like an epic film, for sure. It's my all-time favorite Pixar poster now.
Hey, get this: I actually first saw this poster on the film's Wikipedia article. I guess that's because Wikipedia is my home page and I always check my watchlist first thing when I start surfing the web.
It's just me or has anybody spotted a curious figure in the poster other than Merida?
It's not the will-o-wisps but it's something we found in the earlier concept arts (BTW A and E).
OH. MY. GOODNESS. That is just...mind blowingly awesome. I can't wait for this film!
The stone under the V of Brave is actually an upright bear, me thinks. Notice the eyes and the ears? Maybe you can't see it on this picture, but over at aintitcool they have a big one. Very cool.
Now i have it!!!! I'm so in love with it.
What Mark Andrews says to EW makes me wanna hug him!! I'm extremely glad this is going to be darker, and you can tell it will be this way from the mood the pieces of concept art show.
By the way, I thought those little, blue, flame-shaped lights were something like reflected lights of the cinema where the photo was taken, but there they are as well... What are they?
Is awesome times a houndred, but the second one would be for the '3' with the caracther around it and at third the wall e where he looks the sky.
Where did the other pictures go?
i just want to se Cars 2 to se the Brave tease trailer!!!
I'm glad they changed the title from the original "Billy Brave beats the Bow Legged Bear"
it looks great but not a pixar movie
does anyone else see the bear under the v?
