The Los Angeles Times caught up with Billy Crystal on Friday night and Monsters University naturally came up in the conversation.
“It’s really a great script, it’s really funny. That’s why I’m a little hoarse. I spent five-and-a-half hours today for our fourth session,” says the actor/comedian, who reprises his role as Mike Wazowski in the Monsters, Inc. prequel.
"This movie ends where the other one starts. It’s college pranks with monsters. And I wear a retainer. Mike has a retainer.”

Monsters University opens in theatres on June 21, 2013.

So freaking excited!!!
Mr. Crystal is an awesome comedian, so when he says something is funny there is in fact no doubt in my mind that this will be hilarious and considering Mike has a retainer he is probably even more awkward than we know. Wouldn't be surprising to see a really geeky college Mike.
This movie seems like such a better idea than Cars 2. Brave is still my most anticipated, but I am greatly awaiting this movie. Animated prequels aren't very common, are they?
If it ends where the other began, I'll be curious to see if they find a replacement actor for Waternoose or just write him out somehow.
I bet you Randall will be giving them trouble - bring back Steve Buscemi!
Lol mike is awesome 1 of the best pixar characters ever rite behind potato head, dory, and of course flick hope this movie turns out as AWESOME as the original. And i agree with u angry bird this the first ive ever heard of an animated prequel
I'm so glad that Pixar is making a prequel because since its Pixar it will probably be the first truly good prequel ever made!
2013? the world better not end in 2012 then!
