Wreck-It Ralph Towers Over Classic Characters in New Poster
On Wednesday we got a new trailer... today we get a new poster for Disney's Wreck-It Ralph. It's unusual—hence cool—to see non-Disney video game characters (like SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog) featured so prominently. This should definitely appeal to gamers.

Well of course, didn't get to sign up these gaming legends for nothing yknow even if it does come across as a little on the cheap side seeing as they don't seem to be more than bitparts to make the world tangible. Like you say though, it's a grab to get classic era gamers interested.
Where's Bowser? How do you leave out the King of the Koopas? Ah well, at least SONIC IS IN IT! Hah, that's just too damn cool. Disney, you really know how to tickle a gamer's fancy.
Silly that Nintendo didn't allow Mario & Luigi in the film. Bowser is in it obviously, but it's funny that they couldn't reach a deal. More advertising/attention for other characters I suppose!
My 9-year-old son hasn't recognized *any* of the video game characters from the trailers or the poster other than Sonic. I think Disney needs to do some work to market this movie to its target audience, not just fans of 30-year-old arcade games.
Not everything is about the damn kids. This one, I think it's fair to say, belongs to the older gamers who grew up with these characters. Also, if a kid doesn't even know who Mario or Bowser is, then they are NOT the target audience. The world doesn't revolve around kids, folks, and just because something is animated, does't mean it's target is automatically young children. What an insult to the medium that comment was.
Anonymous #2: Your son is 9 years old, and he can't recognize Bowser? What kind of a parent are you?!
He doesn't even recognize the Pacman Ghost??
@Anonymous 2
Mortal Kombat is still around last time I checked. (not that it's a game for 9-year olds)
But speaking of Sonic, while this looks like a great movie, put your hand up if Sonic alone would make you see it. Thought so.
I'm just relieved to see that the risk taking SEGA finally realized the marketing value of Sonic.
Nintendo's going to regret this...
