First Look: Peter Pan Diamond Edition Blu-ray Box Art

Here's an exclusive first look at the hi-res box art for Disney's Peter Pan Diamond Edition Blu-ray, on sale February 5.

One of the best box designs in ages. Not only does it look great, but it's confident enough not to show any of the characters on the front, except for Peter in silhouette, of course.

Honestly, I think it's ugly.

Then you have no taste. I'm kidding, but what makes you feel it's ugly?

Classy and iconic, I like it. Although, it actually makes me want to watch 'The Great Mouse Detective' even more!

Hahaha!! Mike's response ROFL! I think it's pretty classy. I'd buy it if only I were a Peter Pan fan.

Mike: The lack of characters gives it a empty atmosphere. It's creative, I'll give it that, but it's lacking and ugly. (P.S. I'm Anomanus 1)

I like this a lot. Since the 80's and 90's Disney has usually just put all of their characters on the VHS cover of the film, or re-used a poster. This approach is fresh and I love it :)

You meant to say his "shadow" of course. ; )

is the great mouse detective on blu-ray yet?

Yeah i'm 78, yeah i have an iPad said...

I actuall have to agree with Unkown. Man, peter pan is my childhood

For me, it wouldn't have that frame. I don't like them in any movie, and less in Pixar's ones.

This is the best Disney cover art I've ever seen. I disagree that it feels "empty". If you love the film, the shadow and the clock are all you need; they symbolize the very heart of the story. Love the color, too!

Anonymous #3: No, what I meant was, even though it's the cover art for 'Peter Pan', it actually makes me want to watch 'The Great Mouse Detective' even more. The close up of the clock reminds me of the fight between Basil and Ratigan on Big Ben. Plus, I like that movie more than Peter Pan anyway (still love Peter Pan, though).

While I think it would be fun if more companies took a fresh look at their DVD/Blu-ray covers, I can see why some don't. I can see some customers being confused by an artsy label. But as an artist I say let them suffer! :P

Ever see some of the Steelbook/steelcase releases? Now those are usually brilliant :)

(BTW Unknown here, I finally bothered to log into Blogger and change my settings... whew. :P It should now properly read as Steven M.)

That cover is only the outer slip cover. When you slide the actual bluray case out it will probably have a different pic probably more in the classic Disney style, colored and with characters. I just wish there was a steelbook release to add to my collection.
