Albert Brooks has signed on to reprise his role as overprotective clownfish dad Marlin in Pixar's as yet unannounced sequel to Finding Nemo. Deadline reports that the studio gave the actor a "fat deal" to lure him to the project.
Finding Nemo 2 is reportedly being helmed by Andrew Stanton, in penance for his live action directorial debut, John Carter. Ellen DeGeneres, who had long lobbied for a follow-up to the 2003 film, is also set to return to voice Dory.

OK, Finding Nemo, great. But where can you go within that universe now the main premise is pretty much gone? Hopefully something genuinely unique where the only connecting factor is the characters and not just Finding Nemo 2: Nemo's Lost Again.
I agree completely.
Or how about keeping it simple and just calling it 'Finding Nemo Again'?
Yeah, I'm figuring (and hoping) that there will be something more original there. Guessing there will be!
why does it have to involve "finding" nemo again?! its prob nothing like that. and you could do a lot of things with these characters.
the bottom line is that the head pixar folks "Okayed" it. They must have loved something about it. And we should trust them.
I don't think it will be that hard to find a story line for a sequel. The Ocean's pretty big.
You know what would have made a great film? A Dory spin-off movie. I think a prequel explaining her story would be great, but I really doubt that they're going to go in that direction.
I wonder if it will have something to do with how the Great Barrier Reef has already been half destroyed by humans. That would be a good kick to the Australian government's backside to try and save it.
Hey, it worked for Home Alone...
Finding Nemo 2: Lost in the Hudson
Finding Nemo 3: Lost in the Pet Store
Finding Nemo 14: Lost and Found ad infinitum
Albert Brooks signed on, so it's not going to just be a Dory prequel.
But Nemo was already found...As long as Dory is there...Keeping an open mind. :)
