Awesome Teaser for How to Train Your Dragon 2

DreamWorks Animation has released its first teaser for How to Train Your Dragon 2, coming to theatres June 20, 2014. Although the original was just okay in my estimation, this is a good trailer. Watch—

Not only is the long flight sequence with Hiccup and Toothless totally exhilarating (I can imaging what a ride it is in 3-D), that slightly ominous ending leaves me wanting more. What is he looking at?

Now when will Pixar give us a teaser for The Good Dinosaur, which will be released nearly a month earlier?

Just "good"? I guess if judging on a Pixar scale it is just good but you can't hold DreamWorks to the same regard I think, there's a huge gap in quality that seriously devalues most everyone one in the field if they're not part of Disney.

Definitely a good trailer, just never dug how gimmicky DW tends to be when it comes to 3D.

I really despise Dreamworks but I must say that this trailer is pretty impressive. Just, Dreamworks, don't get too confident... this movie has the ability to either be a huge hit or a tragic flop.

Looks good. Somewhat surprised by older Hiccup look at the end. Heterosexually speaking of course, he looks good.

They ignroed my suggestion to name the sequel "how to Drain your Lizard"

Well my 9-year-old daughter is the hugest of HTTYD fans and just about had a heart attach watching this teaser. I too loved the movie so much that we saw it in the 3D in theater twice. I thought the animation was amazing, and daughter and I are both happy with them making Hiccup a bit older. What's wrong that, any way? Does Andy not age in the Toy Story movies?

We'll likely be there opening weekend. Can't wait!

What I like about this sequel is that Dreamworks actually let the series breathe, instead of cranking out the sequel when the first entry is barely in the can like they used to do. I think this sequel will benefit from that from the story's standpoint. I'm for one excited about what they come up with.

I enjoyed "How to Train Your Dragon" and really liked it's Christmas special. But after several viewings, I have to say that, in my opinion, the flight and free fall scene with Jim Hawkins and his solar surfer in "Treasure Planet" feels superior. So does the flight and free fall of Cody and Marahute in "Rescuers Down Under." The magical moments, like Jim's final breath and slow tip back and Cody's utterly delightful giggle, are missing in this trailers rushed and chatty exposition.

"Just okay"? Are you out of your mind? It was the best thing we've ever seen from Dreamworks! I wouldn't compare it with any Pixar movie, because it's so different in look and feel, but I think it was more than just okay.

The teaser, however, speaks little to me, partly because it's just a teaser. And I find Hiccup's grown-up looks a bit off putting.

All I know is, after HTTYD ended, I sat staring at the screen in awe wondering "what the hell have I been watching before now?!?!"

It made all the drooling I'd given to Pixar films over the years seem like wasted spit.

Pfft, nice post. "Meh, nice trailer I guess. First one was okay. But geeze, when do we get to see a PIXAR trailer?!?! GOD!!"

The first one is the only Dreamworks film I like; I thought it was excellent due to the unique characters and emotional story. This teaser trailer was just Dreamworks showing off their visuals (which will always be a step behind Pixar's anyway). I'm keeping low expectations until I see a return of the elements that made the first movie great.
