Actually Brave doesn't look all that great. That dinosaur movie looks brilliant though! Now what I really want to see is The Incredibles 2... maybe after Brad Bird finally finishes that blasted 1906 (not that it doesn't look good, I'm just frustrated that it's delaying I2), he can finally "Save The Day" again.

I agree with Leonardo. Pixar's gotten too comfortable in their own skin. Way too many sequels! This year, we're getting Brave. I'm looking forward to that. But I'm afraid that mostly we have sequels to look forward to in the future. God forbid there should be a Cars 3, but there probably will be.

Not being a Pixar fanboy here, but I think Cars 2 should have been nominated for Best Original Score and/or Best Original Song. Too few nominees for Song to not have one of Cars 2 songs nominated. As for Score, Mikey G's score was great and it really made the movie. Also Cars 2 should have at least been nominated for Best Animated Feature over Puss in Boots. Puss was more of a blatant cash

I am vindicated. Just here to gloat because Mike was so positive Cars 2 would make the cut back when it came out and I commented many times that it would not. And look at that, I was right and he was wrong.

Cars 2 was truly terrible and even though the Academy has no problem nominating crap (Norbit anyone?) they drew the line with that god-awful turd. And I knew they would not reward

I personally liked Cars 2, and it's a shame it didn't get nominated. But at least La Luna got a nod. It's also quite a shock The Adventures of Tintin didn't get a nod either for Best Animated Feature, but at least it got a nod for John Williams' amazing score.

As for Tintin, even though it was quite poor in character development IMO, I thought it would get the nomination. Perhaps in the end AMPAS determined that being an animation hybrid counts it out. Who knows.

This dissing of motion capture has got to stop. Tintin was animated. Period. Yes, it utilized motion capture techniques, but it is an animated film, whichever way you look at it. Anyway, at least they nominated Morris Lessmore. My favorite animated short, ever. Though I'm really looking forward to seeing La Luna. But that will be after the awards--so Jimmy Crack Corn, people!

ARTHUR CHRISTMAS and Winnie the Pooh were ignored as always. Hello? Actually, I am not surprised by the absence of Tintin. I KNEW one of two animated films with unique animation style will be nominated instead. That's how Academy was like for years for both Animated Feature Films and Short Animated films.

Yeah, "KUNG FU PANDA 2" deserves the nom, but not "PUSS IN BOOTS" (a film that just screams "Shrek" cash grab and was only solid for the first 1/4). "CARS 2" deserved the nom over that, at least.

"Wrong" is a harsh word and I agree with the academy selection - while the mocap process does require a solid background in animation, it is not the same as the art and craft of animation - its special effects. Take it from someone who works in both industries. Rango for the win - but Ive got my fingers crossed for KFP2
